Figurines - The Wonder
Sam gave me this Figurines album a couple years ago, a couple years after it was released (2005). Unfortunately I never took the time to check it out until this year. The whole album is solid, my favorites are a couple fast tracks with a great sound (this being one). Maybe it’s time I check out their 2007 release… ;)

Yeasayer - Ambling Alp
Ambling Alp has been on the top of the http://wearehunted.com charts for a while and is growing on me. Supposedly you can get a free download from http://www.amblingalp.com/ but I was not able to get it to work.
The Rural Alberta Advantage - In The Summertime (acoustic)
The RAA makes beautiful music, even stripped down. Come see them with me in December at Bottom of the Hill (which will be my third The RAA show this year!). Thanks Bijan for sharing.
In The Summertime - The Rural Alberta Advantage (acoustic)
Discovered this acoustic version on the hype machine this morning. Just what I needed.
White Rabbits - They Done Wrong, We Done Wrong
I have been sitting on White Rabbits’ album for I have no idea how many months. Subconsciously I must not have been able to believe I had room for another “rabbit” band. It turns out that I do. A few spins in and “It’s Frightening” (really, “frighten” and “rabbit”?? :) is really good. Some of it reminds me of Spoon and how much I hope they have a new album soon. But all in all it is a really good album. Enjoy…
Jookabox - You Cried Me
This is pretty rad. I have high hopes for the rest of the album (which I am about to dig into with some Ito En Green and too many emails).
You Cried Me - Jookabox
this marks the end of the hip hop run we were on here at fredwilson.fm
i think we’ll see a continued uptick in the amount of hip hop being posted, but it’s not going to be everyday like it was last week
this is some serious awesomeness i came upon this morning at we are hunted
this is a guy named David Adamson from Indianapolis Indiana who calls his band Jookabox.
Beirut - Scenic World
I finally saw Beirut for the first time at Treasure Island Fest (thanks Frankie & Shelby for the ticket!). Their set was incredible “Scenic World” was one of the highlights.
Scenic World - Beirut
I love this band.
Megafaun - The Process
So much good folk this year. Megafaun’s “Gather Form and Fly” keeps growing on me.
Mumford & Sons - Dust Bowl Dance
Darker. Louder. Angry. Pretty epic compared to the fun, folky songs that introduced me to M&S. Impressed with their range.
